ASD Family Advisory Team
The Autism Family Advisory Team was established in 1994. We are part of Northamptonshire Children and Young People’s Service. We are based at Arnold House in Moulton Leys which is a residential unit for children with Autism. We run as an independent Service providing direct support and advice to families in their home and in community. The Team is made up of a Team Manager, a Senior Worker and a number of part time Family Advisory Workers (FAWs) All members of the Team are fully trained in all aspects of Autism, the use of TEACCH, PECs, Social Stories and other complimentary interventions.

Mainstream Support Special Schools Visiting Schools
The Local Authority expects children to have their special educational needs met in their local mainstream school. Some children have special educational needs over and above that which a mainstream school should provide through a statement of special educational needs. These children may attend designated special provision attached to mainstream school, or a special school. This booklet aims to give summary information about each special school and designated specialist provision (DSP) in Northamptonshire. More detailed information about each school or provision can be obtained from your local inclusion area office or directly from the school.

Disability Special Educational Needs
These guidelines should be read in conjunction with ‘The pathway for supporting school-aged children with co-ordination difficulties in Northamptonshire’. They were developed collaboratively by the Additional Needs Specialist Teacher Team, Community Paediatricians, the Educational Psychology Service, the Occupational Therapy Service and the Physiotherapy Service.

CAN YP Team is the specialist substance misuse service for young people in Northamptonshire. We are funded by Northants Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) This document has been designed to assist CAN staff and other professionals to develop good working relationships in the interest of young people. It sets out the services offered by CAN Young People’s Team and provides a framework within which services can operate effectively. It offers information relating to substance misuse to enable professional working with young people feel more confident in engaging them with this issue. The document also includes advice on making referrals to CAN and what you should expect from that process.

The following guidelines are for working with children who are in nappies, not yet toilet trained or who have additional medical needs affecting toileting in schools and early years settings in Northamptonshire. There are a significant number of children who will continue to have difficulties with toileting beyond the early years setting. This group of children may suffer from delayed toilet training due to a variety of reasons, including toilet phobia, global delay, autism, Aspergers Syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic constipation and constipation with overflow soiling, urinary tract infections, poor diet as well as psychological and social factors. Others may develop symptoms at any stage throughout their school career
